Spox: Gazprom not to prolong Kiev deal until Stockholm crt ruling
MOSCOW, Apr 16 (PRIME) -- Russian gas giant Gazprom has no plans to prolong an agreement with Ukraine until the Stockholm Arbitration Court rules on the mutual claims between Russia and Ukraine, spokesman Sergei Kupriyanov told reporters late Wednesday.
Earlier on Wednesday, Business Development Director of Ukrainian energy holding Naftogaz Ukrainy Yury Vitrenko said that the company will negotiate prolongation of the deal on Thursday.
“This is not true. Gazprom does not plan negotiations with Naftogaz Ukrainy not only this week, but in general prolongation of existing agreements until the arbitration litigations finish are no subject for discussion between Gazprom and Naftogaz Ukrainy,” Kupriyanov said.
The last agreement covers April–June and includes a U.S. $100 discount for 1,000 cubic meters of gas and a temporary suspension of a take-or-pay condition.
